"I don’t think I have provided you with a more exciting monthly update than this one," said Board Member and Building Advisory Committee Chair, Mark Spindler. He provided the pictures below that show a building completely transformed, and nearly ready to be the new home of KZYX Public Radio for Mendocino County. The interior walls have fresh paint, there are new countertops and cabinetry (in the studio's employee kitchenette), the ADA restroom facilities are in the process of being completed, and interior strapping for the electrical grounding of the facility (in case of a tower lightning strike) is in place. The flooring is now in the process of being installed. In addition, light fixtures, interior signage (exits, bathroom) have been installed, and fire extinguishers have been purchased and installed. Spindler adds, "All of this has happened since my last update to you in December 2025. So much has been accomplished even during the Holidays!"
General Manager/Director of Operations, Andre de Channes, also shared his optimism. "I've been spending more time in KZYX's future home and every week there's progress being made. We are getting close to installing the studio desks at the end of February, and we will be able to start racking some of the equipment. We have a long way to go, but I'm encouraged by where we are at in this phase of the construction."
